Reserved Romance Bridal Dress Hire — Terms & Conditions 

These Terms & Conditions form a legally binding agreement between you (the renter) and Reserved Romance Bridal Dress Hire (“we”, “us”, “our”). By booking a try‑on appointment, reserving a gown, hiring any item, or using our website or services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions, our Rental Agreement, and our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any changes.

1. Rental Agreement Overview

When you reserve a gown, you enter into a binding Rental Agreement with Reserved Romance Bridal Dress Hire. This agreement includes:

  • The garment(s) hired

  • The size, style, and condition noted at booking

  • The rental period and return date

  • The agreed hire price and bond (if applicable)

A booking is confirmed once full payment of the hire fee and bond (if applicable) is received.

Your right to wear the garment applies only during the rental period. Once the rental period ends, your right to the garment ends immediately and it must be returned.

All prices are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD).

2. Rental Periods

  • Standard rental period: 4 days

  • Extended rental period: 8 days (additional fee applies)

Rental dates are fixed once confirmed. Extensions must be arranged prior to dispatch or collection.

3. Eligibility to Rent

To place a booking, you must provide:

  • A New Zealand phone number

  • A New Zealand residential address

  • A valid email address

  • Identification (e.g., driver’s licence or passport).

We do not accept overseas contact details for rental bookings.

If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must agree to the contract on your behalf.

4. Our Commitment to You

We will:

  • Provide the garment listed in your booking confirmation

  • Ensure it matches the requested size, colour, pattern, and design

  • Deliver it to your nominated address or make it available for pickup

  • Ensure it is clean, steamed, and ready to wear

We are not responsible for errors made by you when selecting size, colour, or style.

5. Your Rights as a Renter

By hiring from us, you are purchasing the right to wear one of our garments during your agreed rental period.

  • Only you, the renter named in the booking, may wear the garment.

  • All garments remain the legal property of Reserved Romance Bridal Dress Hire at all times.

  • You accept full responsibility for the garment from the moment it is collected or delivered until it is returned.

6. Try‑On Appointments

Try‑on appointments allow you to view and fit garments before booking.

  • Appointment fee: $40

  • Duration: 45 minutes

  • Unlimited dresses may be tried on

  • The fee is transferable if you reschedule

  • No‑show appointments are non‑refundable

  • Complimentary follow‑up appointments are available

  • Any damage caused during a try‑on may incur repair fees, charged immediately

7. Delivery (if applicable)

7.1 Delivery Address

By providing a delivery address, you confirm:

  • It is your current physical address

  • You accept responsibility for the garment once delivered

We are not liable for loss, theft, or non‑delivery if you provide an address where you do not reside.

Delivery is available within a 20km radius of Ellerslie, Auckland, for an additional fee.

8. Garment Condition

Our garments are designer pieces and may show minor signs of wear, including:

  • Micro pilling

  • Small loose threads

  • Minor fabric nicks

  • Minor stitching loss

  • Light marks or small stains

  • Seamstress repairs or upkeep

Any significant pre‑existing wear will be noted in the garment description.

You are welcome to inspect garments during your try‑on appointment.

9. Garment Care

You agree to treat all garments with care to prevent unnecessary damage, staining, or loss. This includes:

  • Selecting garments appropriate for your event and environment

  • Considering your height to avoid dragging or treading on the hem

  • Handling garments delicately

  • Following all care instructions provided

Travel With Garments

  • Garments may be taken overseas if your rental dates cover the entire trip

  • Garments must be carried in hand luggage

  • Garments must not be packed in checked luggage

Alterations & Modifications

Garments must not be altered or modified under any circumstances. This includes:

  • Temporary stitching

  • Pinning

  • Excessive tape

  • Removing ribbons or labels

  • Cutting fabric or trims

Garments must be returned in the same condition as received.

10. Cleaning Costs

Basic cleaning is included in your rental fee.

Extra cleaning costs apply for:

  • Substantial staining

  • Heavy marks

  • Damage requiring specialist treatment

Do not attempt to clean the garment yourself. Attempted cleaning may cause permanent damage and incur additional fees.

Always let us know if staining occurred and where so we can treat it appropriately.

11. Damages to Garments

You are liable for any damage occurring during the rental period, including:

  • Theft

  • Fire

  • Loss

  • Pulls, tears, or rips

  • Irreparable damage

  • Stains or markings

  • Alterations

  • Any damage reducing rentability

Bodily Fluids

Garments contaminated with bodily fluids (including blood, vomit, or similar substances) may require full replacement due to hygiene and safety restrictions.

Compensation is determined based on:

  • Inspection

  • Re‑rentability

  • Cost of repair or cleaning

  • Replacement cost

  • Future rental income loss

You authorize us to charge for repairs, replacement, and/or lost income.

Payment of Damage Fees

All damage or replacement fees must be paid within 7 days of notification.

Failure to pay may result in third‑party recovery processes.

12. Replacement of Garments

If a garment is irreparable, stolen, or damaged beyond rentability, you authorize us to charge:

  • Up to 150% of the retail price (RRP)

  • Lost income from future bookings

  • Repair and cleaning costs

Depreciation does not apply to complete replacements.

A depreciated replacement cost may be offered for garments with pre‑existing flaws.

13. Returns & Late Fees

13.1 Return Deadline

Garments must be returned by the due date stated in your Rental Agreement.

13.2 Late Fees

Late returns incur daily fees of 20% of the hire price per day.

If the garment is not returned within a reasonable timeframe, the full replacement cost may be charged.

14. Cancellations & Refunds

Cancellations and refunds are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of this agreement.

14.1 Try‑On Appointments

  • Fees are transferable if rescheduled

  • No‑show appointments are non‑refundable

14.2 Rental Bookings

Refunds are not provided for:

  • Change of mind

  • Incorrect size selection

  • Events cancelled or postponed

  • Weather‑related changes

  • Travel disruptions

  • Personal circumstances

14.3 Event Postponements

If your event is postponed:

  • We will transfer your booking where possible

  • If the garment is unavailable for the new date, the standard cancellation policy applies

14.4 Refund Processing

Approved refunds:

  • Are issued to the original payment method

  • Are processed within 5–7 business days

  • Do not include appointment fees or delivery fees

14.5 Non‑Refundable Situations

Refunds are not provided if:

  • You booked the incorrect size

  • You changed your mind

  • You no longer like the style, colour, or fit

  • Your event changes or is cancelled

  • You fail to collect your garment

  • You provide incorrect delivery details

  • You attempt to clean or alter the garment

  • You breach our Terms & Conditions

14.6 Our Right to Cancel

We may cancel a booking if:

  • A garment becomes damaged or unavailable

  • You provide false or incomplete information

  • You breach our Terms & Conditions

  • Payment is not completed

If we cancel due to garment unavailability, you will receive a full refund.

15. Limitation of Liability

Reserved Romance Bridal Dress Hire is not liable for:

  • Events outside our control (force majeure)

  • Damage, loss, or theft occurring while the garment is in your possession

  • Claims made against you arising from your use of the garment

You accept full responsibility for the garment during the rental period.

16. Prohibited Uses

You may not:

  • Use garments for illegal purposes

  • Resell, sub‑hire, or lend garments

  • Alter garments permanently

  • Misuse the website or interfere with its functionality

  • Submit false or misleading information

  • Upload harmful code

  • Attempt to breach security

17. Privacy

Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

18. Errors & Inaccuracies

We may correct errors, update information, or cancel orders if inaccuracies occur on the website.

Product availability is not guaranteed.

19. Termination

We may terminate your access to our services at any time if you breach these Terms.

Termination does not release you from obligations relating to:

  • Payment

  • Return of items

  • Damage fees

  • Replacement costs

20. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand.

21. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Rental Agreement and Refund & Cancellation Policy, form the entire agreement between you and Reserved Romance Bridal Dress Hire.
